“Stress & Anxiety – Bridging the gap between nutrition and herbs – A Naturopathic approach to a multi-faceted issue”
Overview:
This webinar discusses the signs of stress and anxiety that your client may NOT be telling you but their body is whispering to you. It will provide detailed and practical insights into key functional lab markers and effective solutions that are individualised for the client. With stress and anxiety we often think of using herbs that help the body adapt to stress, and support the adrenal glands, however, there’s much more to it than this. Depending on the client’s type of stress and anxiety, selecting the right nutraceuticals and herbs to support and restore the body is essential.
Speaker Bio:

“I believe that there is a real art to a Consultation that combines what we can observe about the person in front of us and marry up what we hear them say and what the lab results reveal. A true Naturopathic protocol should synergise all the elements to create a balanced solution”.
Gabi has created Bridging the Gap between Nutrition and Herbs to help Practitioners remove the overwhelm and mystery of herbal remedies, and understand how and when to use market formulas in a safe and effective way, to bridge the gap between nutrition and herbs. “Glutathione: From Testing to Optimizing Levels with Nutrition”
Overview:
Glutathione is a tripeptide that plays a pivotal role in critical physiological processes resulting in effects relevant to diverse disease pathophysiology such as maintenance of redox balance, reduction of oxidative stress, enhancement of metabolic detoxification, and regulation of immune system function.
A large body of evidence suggesting that glutathione status may be an important biomarker and treatment target in various chronic, age-related diseases. Yet, proper personalized balance in the individual is key as well as a better understanding of antioxidants and redox balance. Optimizing glutathione levels has been proposed as a strategy for health promotion and disease prevention. Human clinical research suggests that nutritional interventions, including amino acids, vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, and foods can have important effects on circulating glutathione which may translate to clinical benefit. Importantly, genetic variation is a modifier of glutathione status and influences response to nutritional factors that impact glutathione levels.
In this important lecture you will explore:
- The link between low glutathione chronic disease and ageing
- Which tests could be used to measure glutathione status and genetic variability
- Clinical evidence for nutritional strategies that improve glutathione status including amino acids, vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, and foods

“Modulating Immunity – Supporting the body’s reactions”
Overview:
In this webinar, Lauren explains why the immune system is a highly interactive and complex function of the human body. Intelligent in its workings, the immune system is constantly making decisions and taking actions that protect its human home. When the immune system is irregular, we can see autoimmune conditions, allergies, and perhaps an inability to recover from virus or infection or a hyperactive reaction to previously safe substances.
We look at how nutrients like beta-glucans modulate the immune response, the reasons that immune defences can be lowered and how to reduce the severity of allergic reactions and allergies.

“Gut Well Soon and Reset Your Gut: the science and a practical solution for all health professionals, especially busy nutritionists who need bespoke meal plans for their clients”
Overview:
Catherine Rogers is a mental health therapist determined to start the conversation about treating mental and physical health problems with an integrative and practical approach. Her particular passion is gut health, and, in this interview, she talks about her book Gut Well Soon and Reset Your Gut, an online programme developed with the help of nutritionists and medical doctors to help people establish and promote a more balanced gut microbiome. With recipes tailored to specific health challenges, food preferences and allergies, Catherine explains how Reset Your Gut is a great resource for health professionals to help their patients take their health into their own hands.
Speaker Bio:
My new book Gut Well Soon explores the science behind all the latest ‘health’ claims and explains why gut bacteria is so crucial to our mental and physical health. To help put the theory into practice I’ve also launched Reset your Gut, a personalised online course which shows you how to incorporate the theory from the book into your everyday life to get your health back on track.
So, how did I get here? Well, I’ve managed a bird watching resort in the Guyanese jungle; worked in the corporate world; and set up an expedition company to help young people develop their potential.
What links them all is my passion for making a difference to people’s lives. It’s why, I’ve also spent over 20 years qualifying in what is an alarming amount of anagrams: NLP, EFT, CBT, EEFT, and it was while working in mental health, that I had my Eureka moment; one that still makes me tingle!
Mental health is intrinsically linked to physical health. Yes, talking therapies have a place, but if you don’t look after yourself physically, your mental health will suffer. We can all increase resilience and wellbeing though practical changes, including balancing our gut bacteria, reducing stress and improving exercise and sleep. It helped me dramatically with debilitating migraines and other health issues.
Inspired by questions from my daughter, who wanted to understand more about health issues in a simple way, I started writing down my answers. Then, one day someone suggested it would make a great book. So, I talked to experts, studied the science and my new book Gut Well Soon was born.
But for me words are often not enough, I wanted to do something practical that would enable others to help themselves.
So, with a team of amazing doctors, nutritionists and recipe writers I created Reset your Gut. The course is informative, supportive and fun and will teach you the practical things you can do to get your gut health back on track. Want to be healthier and happier? Then why not join us.

“Introducing Bio-Practica and Multi-systems Medicine approach”
Overview:
At BioPractica, through the use of a multisystem medicine philosophy, we support holistic medicine focusing on ‘positive biology’, which means treating body systems not just symptoms.
Multisystem medicine is about the optimal health of multiple body systems, looking at underlying causes of dysfunction and enhancing the health of the whole body, not just focusing on eradicating symptoms or approaching health from a single organ treatment model.
Three core elements need to be taken into account when practicing multisystem medicine:
1. Correct pH and nutrition
2. Adaptive resilience
3. Healthy detoxification
1. Correct pH and nutrition
Correct pH and nutrition are the foundation of treatment. All body systems and biological processes in the human body require the appropriate acid-base balance and adequate nutrition to function and maintain health. Every enzyme in the body requires the correct pH, and without this many biological pathways are reduced or shut down. Also, a balanced pH means increased effectiveness of other nutritional and herbal therapies.
2. Adaptive resilience
We are living in a stressful modern world, where we are all challenged on a daily basis. Being in flight or fight mode is now a normal part of most people’s day. To maintain health within this climate we need to improve the resilience capacity of ourselves and our patients. Only then can the body systems adapt and deal adequately with an ever-growing allostatic load in a healthy and productive way. With increased adaptive resilience comes better ageing and less risk of chronic disease.
3. Healthy detoxification
Our worlds are not only stressful, they are equally toxic. With more food processing, chemical interventions and environmental pollutants, there has never before been a greater need for improved and healthy body detoxification. And by improving the detoxification ability of the body, every organ, tissue and cell has a greater chance of survival with increased functionality and overall health.

“Precision medicine approach for tackling Chronic Inflammatory disease”
Overview:
During the presentation, Nina will explain how to detect chronic inflammation and prevent chronic inflammatory diseases (CIDs) at an early stage using precision medicine technologies. She will explain how Glycomic Technology developed at Avenna can help you as a practitioner to identify CID at an early stage and personalise anti-inflammatory treatments for your clients.GlyHealth Index is superior to current inflammation biomarker tests (e.g. hsCRP, IL-6) which don’t detect these at early stages due to interference from acute inflammation. Consequently, CIDs are often diagnosed at late stages after tissue and organ damage has occurred. GlyHealth-Index measures chronic inflammation (CI) without interference from the noise of acute inflammation. It also has a wide dynamic range – measuring from low levels of CI in very healthy individuals to high CI in very sick patients. This means that the longitudinal measurement of GlyHealth-Index allows detection and assessment of the rate of progression of CIDs even at early stages. The aim is to put in preventative measures years before tissue and organ damage has occurred to reduce suffering for the individual and greatly lower treatment costs. She also explains about anti-inflammatory preventative protocol which they are developing in collaboration with HCPs and nutritionists.
Speaker Bio:
Nina is the CEO of Avenna and founder of wellCODE. Wellcode is scientific wellness company which is delivering personalised wellness solutions to corporate and individual clients individual and corporate clients. “Women’s intimate health. Why these issues arise, and how probiotics can be used to support women holistically”
Overview:
Cystitis, Bacterial Vaginosis and Thrush are commonly seen both in the doctors surgery, and our clinics. But in fact women’s intimate health is a taboo subject, and more women suffer than is often realised. Triggers such as antibiotics, an imbalanced diet as well as sex, contraceptives and hormone fluctuations can all imbalance the vaginal microbiota, leading to these conditions being commonplace but also recurring. In this interview Joanna Scott-Lutyens will discuss these issues, and how specific probiotic strains can be a successful part of a protocol in overcoming them.
Speaker Bio:
Joanna qualified as a nutritional therapist from the Institute of Optimum Nutrition. She has worked as a nutritional therapist in her private clinic in Hampshire, and as a marketeer, content writer and now educator and trainer at OptiBac Probiotics.
